We believe in the power of storytelling to open hearts, spark dialogue, and build stronger communities. Through film, we shine a light on rural life, mental health, and the resilience of everyday people. Our community screenings are at the heart of what we do — creating safe spaces for real conversations, connection, and hope. This is more than film. It’s a movement.
Our Story...
We are passionate about bringing the real stories of rural Australia to life. Our mission is to inspire and connect audiences through authentic storytelling that shines a light on the challenges, triumphs, and everyday experiences of rural communities. By focusing on true and powerful narratives, we aim to foster understanding, empathy, and awareness of real-life issues that matter.
Founded with a deep respect for rural Australia, VAM is committed to producing high-quality content that stays true to the essence of the people and places we represent. From feature films like Just a Farmer to documentaries and commercial projects, we strive to create impactful work that resonates with audiences both locally and globally.
Our Team.
We’re a small, purpose-driven team united by a shared mission: to tell stories that matter and build bridges between people through the power of film. With diverse backgrounds and lived experiences across mental health, farming, storytelling, and digital media, we work together to create real impact—on screen and in communities across the country.
The Creatives
Behind the Camera

The success of Just A Farmer is a testament to the collective effort and dedication of a talented team of industry professionals and creatives. Leading the charge is Sean McDougall as Executive Producer/Producer, alongside Leila McDougall, the film's visionary Writer, Producer, and Executive Producer. The film's creative direction is guided by Simon Lyndon, serving as Director and Co-Producer, with support from Rachael Morrow as Co-Producer. A powerhouse of executive producers, including David Gregory OAM, Shaun Miller, and Bree Eakin, provided essential leadership and strategic insight.
The film's stunning visuals are captured by Gavin John Head, the Director of Photography, while Ashlee Lukas skillfully shaped the story as Editor. The visual aesthetic was elevated by Venty Adams, the film's Production Designer, while the evocative score, composed by Bryony Marks, adds emotional depth to every scene. Supporting the film’s digital presence and online accessibility, Charles Alder oversaw the Web and Digital components. Together, this dynamic team brought Just A Farmer to life, creating a powerful, award-winning story that continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
