One year after its release, Just A Farmer has grown into a national movement, bringing communities across Australia together through 130+ screenings and sparking millions of conversations around rural mental health.

What an incredible night the Australian of the Year Awards was. The room was full of truly amazing people and the energy was just something else; so positive, so powerful. Being surrounded by people who are so passionate about what they do and are genuinely out there making a difference in the world was incredibly humbling. I honestly can’t put into words how honoured I felt to be in that room.

When I was writing Just a Farmer, the little details of the story were so important to me. I wanted to tell it in a way that felt real. The finer details are what make a film truly great. I love films that carry subtle messages, where you discover something new through the world the characters live in. When I was writing Just a Farmer, I showed the script to many professional writers for feedback. Sometimes their comments were soul destroying. They would tear it apart. But
